The new 76,000 sq. ft. Harbor Animal Shelter, opened in June 2008, is the Harbor's newest safe haven for lost companion animals and those looking for new homes. Lush with planters and trees, the Harbor Animal Shelter features 79 dog kennels and 72 cat cages filled with companion animals just waiting to be adopted. There are also specially designed community cat rooms, get acquainted yards for dogs and adopters to meet, special areas for rabbits and exotic animals, and a large grassy field for companion animal training. This shelter is filled with companion animals who desperately need safe and loving homes, fosters and volunteers.
